What is Field Day?

Field Day is the most popular on-the-air event in North America. For 24 hours, radio enthusiasts across the continent set up temporary stations in public places to demonstrate the power of amateur radio.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Practicing off-grid communications using generators and batteries.
  • Public Outreach: An “Open House” for the community to learn about radio technology.
  • Community Service: Ensuring our skills are sharp for when all other systems fail.
